Testing of professional software and hardware products developed for
the broadcast industry, running on Windows or embedded-hardware
platforms. Ensure that the products meet or exceed required quality and
performance prior to manufacturing. The successful candidate will be
responsible for all phases of the hardware and software testing cycle including
development and execution of test strategies, test plans, test
procedures, and testing tools.
Specific Responsibilities
" Create and execute system test plans to ensure that product(s)
perform in accordance with the design and marketing
specifications.
" Develop and maintain unit/system performance and regression test
frameworks in accordance with test plans.
" Proactively provide test plan documentation with system drawings.
" Identify test equipment to be used during the test.
" Develops and produces test reports / conformance reports for test
phases.
" Reports on quality metrics and recommends pass / fail for product
release phases.
" Participates in new product reviews to prepare and plan QA team
activities.
" Contribute constructive feedback before and during the development in
order to prevent and minimize potential defects in
design.
" Work as part of the design team to perform developmental testing as
necessary (pre-QA).
" Identify the operational and performance limits of the product.
" Develop/maintain skills in QA testing.
" Collaborates with hardware and software designers and the QA team to
continually improve the overall testing strategy
" Evaluate new QA techniques and tools in order to stay abreast of new
technologies that may improve product quality or
development processes.
" Assist with customer problem investigation and resolution.
Specific Skills
" University or College degree in a related technical field.
" 3 years experience in system-level hardware and software testing /
QA, or technical customer service environment.
" Experience with television broadcast industry and/or products.
Working knowledge of SMPTE standards.
" Experience in the development of test strategies and frameworks.
Knowledge of automated testing tools.
" Expert knowledge of standard broadcast test equipment such as
oscilloscopes, waveform monitors, meters, etc.
" Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, and
Project) and version control tools (CVS).
" Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
" Solid organizational and time management skills.
" Experience with multi-disciplinary product development projects.
" Excellent customer service and communications skills.
" Outstanding approach to teamwork, collaboration and communication.
